Volcano Iceland ActivityEyjafjallajökull is a series of volcanic events that occurred in Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland.
On April 14, 2010 Eyjafjallajökull erupted again this time in the middle of the glacier, causing the ice to melt in the nearby river flood 2 flow on both sides of the volcano.
Iceland, the land of ice and fire, is a true paradise for volcanologists. In few places on earth, geology and human history are so closely connected to volcanism as on Iceland. The island owns its existence to a large volcanic hot spot sitting on a mid-oceanic ridge, a unique setting.
Iceland's volcanic ash in the smoke forced the flight restrictions in parts of mainland Europe was extended. This was in line with warnings of volcano activity at Mount Eyjafallajoekull, in Iceland.
Flights between Europe and North America and Canada, across the territory of Iceland, now take a more northerly route, to avoid the ash. The volcano is located about 120 kilometers to the south, from Reykjavik, and recorded.
local government has evacuated more than 500 villagers living near the volcano. Iceland's government declared a state of emergency for the southern region of the country. Following the eruption of the volcano, the government is worried about ice on the glaciers will melt, and subsequently resulting floods.
